Visual signaling every morning. Daily trips into Mondicourt (map).
Ceremonial parade Friday. Complimentary speech and presentation of medals by General Haldane. Praise for the Suffolks.
Monday June 25 1917
Out with cable wagons in morning. Called in at noon to take lorry back to Brigade.
Passed through Frevent (map) and had dinner there. Later went into Doullens (map) and spent quiet eve.
Sunday June 24 1917
Put on Coy (Company) parades, shifting dung heap during church parade.
Our being sent in all a mistake.
Lovely village this (Le Cauroy – map), walk in the woods in afternoon.
Saturday June 23 1917
Walked to Company at Le Cauroy (map), (carrying) 15 kilos. Enjoyed the walk.
Swim in mill stream, water very cold.
Friday June 22 1917
Warned for return to Company. Waited in all day but Arthur and I out when lorry came at night.
Wednesday June 20 1917
Swim in morning. Left by bus for rest area at 2.0 pm. Driver lost us and gave us pleasant country trip.
Arrived Grenas (map) 6.30 pm.
